Monday
Core Day
Project work, academic skill-building, ELA and Social Studies instruction, and leadership track studio time. The week begins with intention and ends with reflection.
| Block | What's Happening |
|---|---|
| Morning Grounding8:00 – 8:30 | The day begins with scripture, a journal prompt, and an intention for the day. Every student and coach writes. This is not optional — it is the foundation the rest of the day stands on. |
| Project Work8:30 – 10:30 | Students work on their current unit anchor project in a coached studio session. The coach circulates and conferences. Students lead their own work — this is not a lecture. |
| Academic Mastery10:30 – 12:00 | ELA writing workshop using The Writing Revolution, differentiated by each student's writing level. Social Studies — Facing History, NMAAHC North Star, and primary source analysis. The African diaspora is a central lens all year. |
| Lunch12:00 – 12:45 | Students bring their own lunch. This is unstructured time — conversation, rest, and community. |
| Track Studio + Skill Lab12:45 – 2:00 | Students work within their chosen Leadership Track — Entrepreneurship, Creative Arts, Trades & Technical Mastery, or Social Impact. Real skills, real projects, real work. |
| Portfolio + Closing Circle2:00 – 2:30 | Students update their portfolios and Personalized Learning Plans. The day closes with shoutouts and tomorrow's intention — a brief ritual that names what mattered today. |
Tuesday
Full Field Day
The entire day happens off-site. Students are immersed in a real professional environment — a business, studio, organization, or community space connected to their leadership track and the current unit. This is not a field trip. It is a learning day in the real world.
Transport Provided
What Makes Tuesday Different
Students do not arrive at the studio on Tuesdays. They go directly into the community. Every student leaves with a prepared question, an observation task, and a documentation deliverable. They return with notes, insights, and something that feeds directly into their current project. The world is the classroom.
| Block | What's Happening |
|---|---|
| Departure Grounding8:00 – 8:30 | A brief Morning Grounding at the studio before departure — the day's purpose is named, students' prepared questions are reviewed, and the documentation task is confirmed. |
| Travel + Arrival8:30 – 9:00 | Transport to the field site provided by Live2Create. Students arrive ready to engage — not as tourists, as learners with a purpose. |
| Immersive Field Experience9:00 – 1:30 | Full day at a community partner site. Depending on the unit and track, students may be observing professionals at work, conducting interviews, collaborating on a project, contributing to an organization, or engaging in service. Lunch happens on-site or is packed. Every moment is intentional. |
| Travel + Return1:30 – 2:00 | Return transport to the studio or designated dismissal point. |
| Field Debrief2:00 – 2:30 | What did you observe? What surprised you? What does this change about how you see your project? Students document their field experience in their track journal and Personalized Learning Plan. |
Wednesday
Core Day
Project critique, science investigation, deep independent work, and creative studio time. Wednesday is the week's revision and refinement day — students look at what they've built and make it better.
| Block | What's Happening |
|---|---|
| Morning Grounding8:00 – 8:30 | Midweek anchor — a moment to pause, reflect, and recalibrate. Scripture, journal prompt, intention. |
| Project + Critique8:30 – 10:30 | Students revisit their current project with fresh eyes — peer critique sessions, revision, and coach feedback. The question driving this block: what would make this better? |
| Academic Mastery10:30 – 12:00 | Science — OpenSciEd inquiry-based investigations, phenomenon-based learning, and lab work. Deep independent work — NoRedInk grammar practice, CommonLit independent reading at each student's level, and mastery catch-up. |
| Lunch12:00 – 12:45 | Students bring their own lunch. |
| Creative Studios12:45 – 2:00 | Track studio work, Signature Project development, and cross-track collaboration. Students in different tracks work side by side — an Entrepreneurship student may ask a Creative Arts student to design their pitch materials. This is what a real studio looks like. |
| Portfolio + Closing Circle2:00 – 2:30 | Portfolio updates, PLP check-in, and the day's closing circle — shoutouts and tomorrow's intention. |
Thursday
Studio + Field-In Day
Math mastery, deep production work, and the world comes to the students. Mentors, professionals, and community partners visit the studio — students lead the conversation. Thursday ends with the week's most important community ritual: Leadership Circle.
| Block | What's Happening |
|---|---|
| Morning Grounding8:00 – 8:30 | Scripture, journal prompt, intention. The coach prepares students for who is coming in today and what they should be ready to ask. |
| Project-Based Learning8:30 – 10:30 | Production block — students build, make, create, and produce. This is deep project work tied to the current unit. The coach circulates and coaches. No lectures. |
| Academic Mastery — Math10:30 – 12:00 | Math workshop (10:30–11:15): Coach-led small group instruction using Illustrative Mathematics, differentiated by each student's pathway. Math self-paced (11:15–12:00): Students work independently on Khan Academy at their current mastery level. |
| Lunch12:00 – 12:45 | Students bring their own lunch. |
| Field-In: Mentor or Guest12:45 – 2:00 | A mentor, field partner, or guest professional visits the studio. Students lead the conversation — the guest does not lecture. The coach facilitates. Guests are connected to the current unit theme or a student's leadership track. Students prepare questions in advance. No transport required — the world comes to them. |
| Leadership Circle2:00 – 2:30 | The week's most important conversation. Faith, formation, and the real question underneath everything happening right now. The coach asks. Students answer. Silence is held. This is the heart of the community. |
Friday
Showcase + Community Day
Polish, portfolio, and celebration. Friday is the week's commissioning — students name what they built, coaches name what they saw, and the community closes the week with intention. This day is never rushed and never skipped.
| Block | What's Happening |
|---|---|
| Morning Grounding8:00 – 8:30 | Gratitude, week reflection, and intention. What did God do in our lives this week? Students and coach name it out loud. |
| Showcase Prep + Polish8:30 – 10:30 | Project polish and presentation preparation. Students finalize and package their work — making it present-ready. The standard is not perfection. It is integrity: does this represent your best effort? |
| Deep Work10:30 – 12:00 | Independent mastery practice — catch-up work, extension challenges, and self-paced academic progress. Students set their own direction this block with coach check-ins. |
| Lunch12:00 – 12:45 | Students bring their own lunch. |
| Creative Studios12:45 – 2:00 | Track studio work, portfolio curation, and independent project time. Students curate what they've made this week and add to their growing portfolio of real work. |
| Week Close + Celebrate2:00 – 2:30 | The week's closing ritual. Students name what happened — what they built, what was hard, what they're proud of. Shoutouts are given. Recognition is received. PLP intentions for next week are written. The community is commissioned into the weekend. This ritual is never optional. |
